Employees that wish to take advantage of the biweekly transition assistance, may elect to do so through the benefits open enrollment portal October 17 through 28. For example: You have 40 hours in your annual leave balance and elect to cash-in 10 of those hours. Your new annual leave balance will be reduced to 30 hours. You will be paid for the 10 hours of annual leave, and the City will pay you for an additional 10 hours (to match the amount you elected). Thus, you will be paid for a total of 20 hours in transition assistance pay on January 13, 2023.
Your leave balance as of December 31, 2022 will determine your eligibility to cash out the number of hours selected for assistance. If you are still in the probationary period as of December 31, you are not eligible to use accrued annual leave for transition assistance, however you may use FLSA comp time or banked holidays.
You can choose from accrued FLSA comp, banked holidays, or annual leave (probationary employees not eligible) to cash out. Check your leave balances through Kronos or Telestaff.
You will receive a letter this month that gives a glance at what your biweekly pay will be as of your current salary. Follow up with your HR Reps or Benefits Assistance for your letter.
