The purpose of Lead-Safe Greensboro is to remove lead-based paint hazards that pose an imminent health threat in homes built before 1978 and to protect young children from lead poisoning. Homeowners and rental property owners may be eligible for assistance. Grants are available through this program.

Due to the high volume of contacts, the City has paused taking information from new, interested residents for this program until staff can work though the current list of more than 250 potential applicants.

The Home Repair GSO program seeks to correct major housing code and structural problems to improve housing safety. Grants are offered to owner-occupied, low-income households.
