The Greensboro Fire Department is broken down into three critical branches. Each branch is responsible for fulfilling their purpose. Much like a well run machine, Greensboro Fire depends on all three branches for separate needs. Each one has a critical job for the full machine to run efficiently and effectively.

Chief Gossett
Deputy Chief Alex Gossett oversees our Administration Services branch in the GFD. Our Administrative branch in the GFD oversees the regulatory requirements. Without this branch, the GFD would lack data for strategic planning, budget organization, staffing representation and much much more.

The Greensboro Fire Department is a Class I, Internationally Accredited fire department. The Department has maintained its Class I rating with the most recent evaluation effective on April 1, 2018. The Administrate Services branch is a key factor in our internationally recognized credentialing status.
