You may pay any City of Greensboro bill at the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St., or at the Kitchen Operations Center, 2602 S. Elm-Eugene St., from 8 am to 5 pm Mondays through Fridays. Credit card payments are also accepted at these locations.

Types of Payments

Forms of Payment

Payment forms accepted by the City include credit/debit cards, cash, checks, money orders, traveler's checks, and cashier or bank official checks.

Acceptance of Credit/Debit Cards for City Services

The City accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa, as well as debit cards bearing the MasterCard or Visa logo, for services at several City locations. Additional locations will be added based on demand and cost considerations.

Payment by Bank Draft

The often preferred and most economical method of payment for services billed on the City Services Utility Statement is by bank draft. (This includes billings for Water and Sewer, Stormwater, Solid Waste Collection, Household Hazardous Waste, etc.) Under this payment option, the bank account of businesses and individuals who use this free service is drafted for the amount billed on the monthly or quarterly City Services Statement. This automatic payment option provides for the timely and convenient payment of City utility services.

Payment by Internet

The City is now accepting online payments for parking tickets, water and sewer utility bills, privilege license renewals, miscellaneous invoices, building inspection permits, and temporary right of way closures. Payments can be made using American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

Payments for parks and recreation events/programs/facility rentals may also be paid online. Payments can be made using Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

Payment by Drop Box

Water and sewer utility bill payments are also accepted 24-hours a day at a drop box at 2602 S. Elm-Eugene St.

Return item charge

There is a $25 returned item charge assessed for any payment instrument that is returned not paid.
