Residents, business owners, and frequent visitors of South Greensboro are invited to the City’s second public workshop to identify key issues and opportunities in this growing part of the Gate City. The Great Places and Mobility Workshop takes place from 4-7 pm Wednesday, October 23, at Frazier Elementary School, 4215 Galway Dr.
The workshop is part of the City Planning Department’s process to devise the South Greensboro Plan, which will help City staff, residents, business owners, and decision makers develop a more prosperous, safe, and closely-knit community. Department leaders look to have the plan developed and adopted by late 2025.
The Great Places and Mobility Workshop provides engagement opportunities for both adults and children. Adults will take part in discussions and hands-on activities about placemaking, transportation, and walkability opportunities. Children of workshop participants ranging in age from 8-12 may join a bike rodeo, operated by Safe Kids Guilford County. Younger children will have access to the City’s Parks and Recreation Department’s portable trailer full of toys and games. City staff will help accompanying adults monitor both activities.
Snacks and refreshments will be available.
The Great Places and Mobility Workshop is the second meeting in this planning process in as many months. The Planning Department is actively soliciting feedback from everyone who wants to participate in the planning process.
