About
Every spring, the Mayor’s Committee accepts nominations for the Stephen L. Knier Memorial Scholarship to support high school seniors with disabilities who plan to pursue a higher level of education. The scholarship is named in memory of Stephen L. Knier, former executive director of LIFESPAN Inc., long-time member of the Mayor's Committee, and community advocate for persons with disabilities.
Apply
You may nominate either yourself or a deserving student for up to $3,000 in scholarship opportunities. The 2024 deadline is June 24. Apply now!
Applicants must be:
- A high school senior planning to graduate in spring 2024.
- Currently enrolled at a school located within Guilford County (can be a private, charter, homeschool program)
- Enrolled/or plan to enroll in postsecondary education or vocational training for fall 2024.
