The Ardmore Park streambank stabilization project enhanced water quality by stabilizing severely eroded streambanks. As with many projects, the City of Greensboro worked closely with Parks and Recreation, engineers and the neighborhood to establish a design that would stabilize and enhance the stream flowing through Ardmore Park.Construction was completed in 2014.

The project consisted of stabilizing approximately 2,000 linear feet of stream located from Swan Street to just slightly beyond Hayden Street.

Project Goals

  • Stabilize severe bank erosion
  • Re-establish the natural patterns of the stream to enhance water quality and provide habitat for beneficial stream bugs and fish.
  • Enhance water quality by reducing the amount of sediment entering the stream.
