What is not visible on the route concept maps is that both concepts increase the time of service so that buses would run from 6 am to 10 pm on weekdays and weekends. Consistent service across the week is critical to encouraging more people to rely on bus transit for all kinds of trips.

For the Ridership Concept:

  • The typical resident can reach 140 percent more jobs by transit in 45 minutes. 
  • The typical resident in poverty can reach 122 percent more jobs by transit in 45 minutes.
  • 55 percent of residents are within a half mile walk of any transit service, compared with 52 percent now.
  • 34 percent of residents are within a half mile walk of frequent transit service (running every 15 minutes), compared with none today.

For the Coverage Concept:

  • The typical resident can reach 86 percent more jobs by transit in 45 minutes.
  • The typical resident in poverty can reach 51 percent more jobs by transit in 45 minutes.
  • 76 percent of residents are within a half mile walk of any transit service, compared with 52 percent now.
  • 15 percent of residents are within a half mile walk of frequent transit service, compared with none today.
