OPERATION YULETIDE 2024

Operation Yuletide is an initiative led by the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) to bring holiday cheer to people experiencing tough times.

Throughout the year, GPD employees meet people impacted by serious crimes, accidents, or an unfortunate turn of events. And each year those employees organize to provide gifts of new clothing, toys, and household items to deserving families and seniors nominated by the police department. These are people GPD has come in contact with over the year and been touched by their circumstances. The department also “adopts” one senior home to deliver cheer and gifts of essential household and hygiene items. Operation Yuletide is one way the department lets these families and seniors know they are cared about.

Although this program is a GPD-led initiative, it involves many City of Greensboro departments, businesses, and residents. Along with GPD, other groups and City departments “adopt” families and seniors and shop together for their family’s gifts. This program brings out the best in all of those involved and reminds how strong the Greensboro community when partnering with each other. Sign up to "adopt" a family.

You can also be a part of Operation Yuletide by making an item donation for the senior community we "adopt" by bringing a fun Holiday Shop to residents.

Please ensure any bulk donation of hygiene and household items are individually wrapped/packaged so they can be gifted to multiple seniors.
