The Office of Community Engagement team is charged with developing new programs and services to engage all communities in Greensboro. It is a bridge between the Greensboro Police Department and the community, with information flowing both ways.

The office will also continue to coordinate police/community dialogue sessions, National Night Out, Police Citizens' Academy, and Operation Yuletide.

One of the best ways community members can become actively engaged with GPD is through the Community Watch Program. Community Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of residents, in cooperation with law enforcement, to reduce crime and victimization in communities. To start one, simply contact your Community Resource Officer (CRO).

Request a free "We Support Our Police" yard sign here.

To understand what our officers do during a shift, sign up for a Ride-Along. This experience will give you an inside look at police work during a six-hour shift.

You may also request an officer speak with your school, civic group, business, or faith organization.

To get an in-depth understanding of GPD, we invite you to participate in GPD’s Police Citizens’ Academy, which is held annually from January through April. It consists of 14 scheduled classroom discussions including hands-on demonstrations.

Come back to this Web page frequently to find out what else we have planned. You may also follow us on Facebook to keep up-to-date on community outreach events. We offer several ways you can connect with us and we always have a lot going on. Come join us!
