A significant entrance into Greensboro, Randleman Road hosts a diverse array of commercial businesses surrounded by established neighborhoods. The roadway is a key transportation and transit route for Greensboro.

The City’s Planning Department is facilitating the Randleman Road Corridor Plan Phase 2. This phase builds on the progress and recommendations of Phase 1, which focused primarily on transportation improvements and encouraging reinvestment.

Phase 2 covers a 2.3-mile stretch of the Randleman Road area from the I-40 interchange on the north to the City limits. See the map below.

The corridor’s importance and need for a focused planning document stems from a few primary issues:

  • Continued need for reinvestment
  • Safety concerns
  • Improved traffic and transit systems
  • Quality of life improvements

Phase 2 is part of GSO2040, the City’s comprehensive plan. Planning processes such as these help bring a comprehensive plan to life by applying its principles to a specific, smaller geography and focusing on local concerns.

The Randleman Road Corridor Plan Phase 2 is expected to be complete in the fall of 2025.
