Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department relies on volunteer coaches to provide youth sports participants with quality recreational experiences. As a coach in one of our sports programs, you will provide leadership to youth as they develop in sportsmanship, self-confidence, competitiveness, and fair play.

Youth Sports Program Philosophy

Although winning is important, it is not emphasized as a priority. We measure success on skill development and the fun the each player has. Our youth sports programs are designed to create a positive environment for youth by emphasizing:

  • Each individual's right to participate
  • Life skills, good sportsmanship and game fundamentals
  • Fun and enjoyment above all else
