About
The Tribute to Women is the first stand-alone exhibit in North Carolina and one of only a handful of similar exhibits in the country that exclusively honor the contributions and achievements of women. It was created with a donation from the estate of Ruth Wicker, a local resident.

The interactive exhibit features educators, philanthropists, researchers, activists, advocates, and other leaders who called Greensboro home.
The 2019 inaugural honorees included:
- 31 individuals
- 4 organizations
- 6 City Council members, including two mayors
- 10 women who were “firsts” in their field or position
A second group of honorees (pictured below) was enshrined at the exhibit in August 2023. See photos from the event on the Human Rights Department's Facebook page.
The Tribute to Women is located within the Barber Park Event Center, designed by architect Shermin Ata. Studio Displays created the exhibit. MBID International did the interior design. See the facility in this video produced by the Greensboro Television Network.
