Home MenuAbout the Program
In partnership with Deep Roots Market and the Congregational United Church of Christ, the Office of Sustainability and Resiliency has coordinated a pilot program for collecting and composting food waste from Greensboro residents, when composting at home isn’t an option.
This service is provided by Triad Compost Service (TCS). TCS collects the food waste deposited in the specially marked bins, and transports it to their composting facility. TCS also offers residential and commercial services, which provide sustainable solutions for families and businesses to achieve zero-waste and sustainability goals.
The first year of this pilot program proved successful by diverting approximately 2.7 tons of waste from local landfills.
