A collaborative survey authored by the City’s Ad-hoc Committee on African American Disparity (ACAAD) and NC A&T State University criminal justice faculty will offer perspective on residents’ relationships with the Greensboro Police Department (GPD). The anonymous Police-Community Survey is available online.

The ACAAD believes a measure of a city’s safety and vitality is seen in how its communities pursue peace, respect, and truth. It looks forward to assisting this effort and hearing City residents’ voices on the important work of the police in their communities.

The committee partnered with GPD’s Community Engagement Division to promote the survey at the City’s National Night Out events in 2023. The survey was also promoted at special City events and at select City libraries and recreation centers. While most data will be collected online, printed surveys were available for local residents at the National Night Out events, as well as City community centers and libraries.

The NC A&T State faculty will analyze the collected data for the committee’s review. The ACAAD will report on the survey’s findings in 2024.
