Engineering Inspections and Water Resources departments combine to review construction drawings for site-related infrastructure improvements. These include:
- Fire lines
- Water services (three-inches in diameter or greater)
- Sanitary sewer mains (lines with manholes)
- Roadway improvements (widening, turn-lanes, and sidewalks)
- Storm sewer systems (carrying private or public stormwater).
Plan / profile sheets are reviewed during construction. Construction on public infrastructure should not begin until construction plans with water and sewer permit numbers are obtained. At this point, an engineering construction inspector is assigned to inspect the proposed infrastructure improvements. The last stage of the process is completion of as-builts and record drawing collection.
