About Dramatists Playground

The Dramatists' Playground's Do a Play in a Day is an annual event hosted by the Greensboro Playwrights' Forum. Not unlike our friends and colleagues at 24 Hour Plays and the popular 48 Hour Film Festival, actors, directors and playwrights are challenged to write a play, rehearse and perform it in less than one day.

Dramatists Playground’s purpose is to create an intense deadline focused period of time to make dramatic art. Participants are assigned to groups randomly, and spend the whole day together creating and learning to work together through ensemble building and improvisation. It provides a fantastic challenge for creativity and stamina for everyone involved.

The doors to the theater will open to the public at 7 pm, and ready or not the world’s newest plays will be born!
