Parks and Recreation Hosts Halloween Events

Enjoy the Halloween season with these City of Greensboro-sponsored events. Admission is free unless otherwise noted.

Great Trails State Day
The event highlights North Carolina's diverse trail networks that span from mountains to the coast, with kayaks and mountain bikes on hand to demo, as well food and drink vendors, outdoor crafts, and three-guided hikes throughout the day; one moderate hike from 9-10:30 am, and two easy hikes from 2-2:30 pm and 3-3:30 pm.

AIR Fall Dance
Our Adaptive and Inclusive section hosts its annual Fall Dance for participants 13-and-up to dance the night away. Cost is free, but registration is required.

Halloween Hootenany
It's time for a Halloween celebration at the lake. Sign up for one activity or all three. Enjoy a costume paddle, scary stories and s'mores, and learn about creepy creatures associated with Halloween.

Greensboro Youth Council’s Ghoulash!
A scare-free downtown Halloween event for families with candy, games, a costume contest, and more! Hosted by the Greensboro Youth Council (GYC) and Greensboro Downtown Parks.

Howl-o-ween
For all ages and breeds. Join this costume party with treats for humans and dogs to enjoy. Offered in partnership with Guilford County Animal Resources.

Halloween Costume Party
Get in the Halloween spirit with Brown Recreation Center's annual Halloween event. There will be games, crafts, prizes, and fun for the whole community.

Pumpkin Smash
An event for those looking to discard old pumpkins with using a homemade pumpkin slingshot or sledgehammers to sling, fly, and smash your pumpkins. There will be different-sized tools for differently sized hands. No registration is required.
