The Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) again offers its Move to the Polls initiative to support voter awareness and participation in the November 2024 elections. The project is designed to ensure information and transportation barriers are eliminated for registered and new voters in Greensboro.
Similar to previous years, GTA and Access GSO will join peer transit systems across the nation to offer fare-free public transportation on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5. The project also offers a non-partisan voter guide that provides important election dates and resources so voters have factual and timely information from the Guilford County and North Carolina boards of elections. By visiting the “Election Station” webpage at RideGTA.com, voters will find early and Election Day voting locations and important dates, plus links to election participation information.
“Elections are one of the few recognized areas in society where everyone is equal, regardless of their age, race, occupation or financial status," said GTA Marketing and Communications Specialist Kevin Elwood. "It is still one person, one vote. This makes it even more important for our riders and the general community to play a role in the election of those who will set the policies that affect all aspects of our lives.”
The Move To The Polls project is a public service project, which includes voter registration at the J. Douglas Galyon Depot Transit Center and other select locations. The initiative runs through November 5, 2024.
