About the Artist
Greg Hausler is a textile-based, multimedia abstract painter who goes by #WonkyStarStudios on social media.
He makes his own canvases by stapling articles of clothing, textile scraps, and found objects to plywood. To bond everything together, he pours wall paint on the canvas, creating a rich “underpainting” of textures.
Hausler has a BFA from Kansas State University and has worked in the Triad as a graphic artist and art director. He has exhibited in Serbia, Greece, Kansas, California, and North Carolina.
About the Artwork: "I Am Not Ready For This"
Artist Statement:
"This is one well-traveled rooster; he has been on display in California, Serbia, Greece, and now in Greensboro. The painting is on men's briefs which have been stapled onto plywood. Look closely you can see the buttons from the "button fly" and the elastic waistband. It is called "I am not ready for this" because I am not a morning person.
