Schwartz will discuss the relationship between establishing industry in the City and family housing development.
Greensboro’s planning director since 2011, Schwartz has worked with the City since 1987. She is known for her creativity in community engagement and plan implementation. Schwartz served as project manager for Southside, a redevelopment area in downtown Greensboro, recognized as one of the first applications of Traditional Neighborhood Development concepts for an infill area. It received national awards from the US Environmental Protection Agency, the American Planning Association, and the Sierra Club. She has also presided over the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and earned induction into the AICP College of Fellows in 2003.
