Norma Jean Wilkes Presents "Brainstorms"
A Collabration with the Mental Health Association
Norma Jean Wilkes presents “Brain Storms,” describing -- in a compelling manner -- the roller coaster of moods, thoughts and behaviors typically associated with bipolar disorder. The presentation is designed to give hope to those who struggle with bipolar disorder, show that recovery from mental illness is possible and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness through education.
Wilkes is a peer specialist and volunteer with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Mental Health Association in Forsyth County (MHA), and is a member of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA). She has worked as a therapist, workshop presenter, public speaker and storyteller.
