We will screen The Witches (aka The Devil's Own) starring Joan Fontaine. This 1966 Hammer Studios production is the story of a school teacher who suffers a breakdown in Africa brought on by witch doctors who wanted her out of the country. She recovers, returns to England and accepts the job of headmistress at a private church school in a remote village. Here she discovers that ancient voodoo rights are still being practiced, and that she must prevent one of her students from becoming a human sacrifice. (90 minutes, unrated).
