The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department will host a National Trails Day kayak excursion from 7:15-9:30 am, June 5, leaving from Lake Brandt Marina, 5945 Lake Brandt Rd. The cost will be $20 for a single kayak, $30 for a tandem kayak or canoe, or $8 to bring your own boat. Space on the paddle is limited. Reserve your kayak by talking to a staff member at 336-373-3741. Leaving a voicemail cannot guarantee a spot.

The paddle is a guided easy to moderate intensity level appropriate for beginners. Participants should meet at the Lake Brandt Marina no later than 7:15 am for check-in so the group can depart at 7:30 am. The paddle will be roughly 4.5 miles and will take approximately two hours. Sunscreen, water, snacks, hats, and long sleeve shirts are encouraged. Make sure clothing will not restrict ability to paddle.
