Greensboro is celebrating National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2, with a planned, unescorted walk on the detour route of the Downtown Greenway in downtown Greensboro. The Downtown Greenway, Piedmont Legacy Trails, Piedmont Land Conservancy, The Piedmont Triad Regional Council, and the City of Greensboro have planned a day of activities to celebrate the extensive trails and greenways in Greensboro by getting residents to come out and enjoy the trails as a part of the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day effort: https://americanhiking.org/national-trails-day.

The event will be held at LoFi Park on the Downtown Greenway located at the corner of Smith and North Eugene. The walk begins at LoFi Park at 9 am and will go on the Detour Route which includes open sections. This unescorted walk is 4.75-miles around downtown. Joymongers Brewing Co. will donate 10 percent of sales from 2 pm to 12 am on First Friday June 1 and all day Saturday to trails and greenways in our area. Entertainment by David Lin Music and food trucks at LoFi Park from 11 am to 1 pm. Takeout from nearby restaurants available all day. Water refill and restroom stations during the walk will be sponsored and located at the Greensboro Children’s Museum and Morehead Foundry. Join us to walk the Downtown Greenway, enjoy local food, beer & entertainment and celebrate National Trails Day!
