Ed Bearss, chief historian emeritus with the National Park Service, is one of the nation’s best-known public historians. Nicknamed the Homer of the Civil War, he is the North Carolina Civil War Round Table’s (NCCWRT) most popular guest speaker.
With his depth of scholarship and innumerable battlefield trips, Bearss offers insight into the leadership styles of Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant, with emphasis in the Overland Campaign of 1864.
Social hour with light refreshments and time to see the museum’s Confederate longarms collection begins at 6 pm, followed by the program. Tickets are $15 per person, payable to NCCWRT. Questions? Contact Tommy Cole at 336-725-8797 or ctommycole@yahoo.com.
