The second-annual Triad Strong Music Festival runs from noon to 4 pm on November 16 at Smith High School, 2407 S. Holden Rd. This free event to promote community violence awareness features local and national musicians, food trucks, vendors, and more. It was originally slated for September 28 but was rescheduled due to weather.

Greensboro’s Office of Community Safety (OCS) has partnered with three local organizations (Next Level of the Triad/New Cool Movement, Establishing Safe Cultures, I.Am.King Men's Empowerment) to host the event, which emphasizes peace, love, and unity. Elected officials and law enforcement partners will make remarks and guests can meet representatives of community-based organizations that provide mental-health support, mentoring, tutoring, violence intervention, and interruption services.

Two Guilford County high school students will receive scholarships in recognition of their academic performance and service to community violence awareness.
