Board of Adjustment Meeting

  • CostFree

This public meeting will be held in person.

All speakers will be sworn in for the record and no written or emailed comments will be considered by the Board of Adjustment due to the board’s quasi-judicial nature.

As of Monday, March 4, residents attending this meeting must enter MMOB through the Greene Street entrance due to construction on the Phill G. McDonald Plaza, which will be ongoing until mid-2025.

The Greensboro Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body responsible for hearing and deciding appeals, variance requests, special exceptions, and interpretations of the zoning regulations. In doing this, the board is charged with upholding the purpose and intent of the development ordinance when there are practical difficulties or unnecessary hardships that result from carrying out the strict letter of the law.

The Board of Adjustment is composed of seven members appointed by City Council for three-year terms. Regular meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month.
