City and Community Partners Host Triad Strong Music Festival September 28 - UPDATE

The second-annual Triad Strong Music Festival runs from noon to 4 pm on September 28 at the Barber Park Amphitheater, 1500 Barber Park Drive. This free event to promote community violence awareness features local and national musicians, food trucks, vendors, and more.

Greensboro’s Office of Community Safety (OCS) and Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with three local organizations (Next Level of the Triad/New Cool Movement, Establishing Safe Cultures, I.Am.King Men's Empowerment) to host this community festival that emphasizes peace, love, and unity. Elected officials and law enforcement partners will make remarks and guests can meet representatives of community-based organizations that provide mental-health support, mentoring, tutoring, violence intervention, and interruption services.

Two Guilford County high school students will receive scholarships in recognition of their academic performance and service to community violence awareness.
