Participants will incorporate original poetry into their quilting designs as they learn how to make custom Ankara print t-shirt pillows with guest facilitator Kendra Bryant of Ondahani, a wo/mxnist collective of Black siSTAR scholars whose research and organization is grounded in social justice education, practice, & theory. Ondahani is a Garifuna word that means “making community.” It was established in 2021 as a safe harbor for the five Black charter members who were then studying at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Registration required.
The GROW residency space is located just inside the Davie Street entrance of the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St.
