Creative Greensboro will present “Into Shakespeare’s Woods or What the Puck is Happening?” by William Shakespeare directed by guest artist David Sebren, August 8-11 at 6 pm in the Greensboro Arboretum, 410 Ashland Dr. Performances are free, with donations accepted to help continue this summer program. “What the Puck is Happening?” audience members are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on during the performance.
About the Show
“Into Shakespeare’s Woods or What the Puck is Happening?” is a compilation of some of Shakespeare’s greatest outdoor – or forest scenes – with the entire evening hosted by the famous sprite, Puck! Scenes will be performed outdoors in various locations at the Greensboro Arboretum, starting at 410 Ashland Dr. Actors and audiences will travel together and find out is really happening in Shakespeare’s woods.
About David Sebren
David Sebren continues his collaboration with Creative Greensboro for the second year on the summer Shakespeare series by using The Bard’s words to create a new piece in partnership with Bob Beshere and a cast of local artists. Sebren holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from UNCG. He is currently an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors, and a teaching candidate with Dueling Arts International. He has worked professionally as an actor, director, designer, and fight director since graduating from UNCG in 2006, and has worked with companies from North Carolina to California. He currently serves on the faculty of Greensboro College.
