The City’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) welcomes Partners Ending Homelessness Executive Director Shereá Burnett, JD, VSP, to its latest LeadHERship Through Service program on Tuesday, January 23. Burnett will reflect on her professional journey and offer tips for a successful career with an emphasis on working in the nonprofit and human services sectors.

Burnett joined Partners Ending Homelessness in August 2023 and works with various agencies to provide housing-related services to families, individuals, and survivors of domestic violence. The Alamance County, NC, native is a citizen of the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Afro-American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated from Elon University’s School of Law in 2013 and serves on boards for Alamance County’s Women’s Resource Center and Women AdvaNCe.
Burnett is also an adjunct professor at Greensboro College and a contributing writer for various publications, including her website, ThisWomansWords.
