Celebrate One City, One Book and join us for a film screening that highlights the cuisine of a local culture. This month’s selection celebrates Hispanic cuisine. Tortilla Soup is the story of three grown sisters who try to cope and live with their father Martin (Héctor Elizondo), a veteran chef who is slowly losing his sense of taste.
Martin has one simple rule: be at home for Sunday dinner and attendance is both mandatory and non-negotiable. A rift in the family develops when the sisters develop relationships and an obnoxious woman (Raquel Welch) sets her sights on Martin's affections.
A representative from a local Hispanic restaurant is scheduled to attend with a brief presentation before the film screening. There will be a sample of the cuisine provided. Contact Ronald Headen by email or call 336-412-6199 for more information. The film is rated PG-13.
