Council approves
changes to the Greensboro
Coliseum. At its July
20 meeting, Greensboro City Council approved a new
$1.2 million VIP lounge for Greensboro Coliseum's
War Memorial Auditorium as a commitment to the
Atlantic Coast Conference. The lounge will be
almost entirely funded from grant money provided
by the Coliseum's food vendor, Ovations. In
addition to funds for the lounge, Council approved
finishing the Coliseum's amphitheater with
$125,000 from Ovations. Also, after two
previous attempts, Council approved a contract to

Changes to
Trash Collection Schedule Coming in
August |
Some residents
will get a new trash collection day, recycling
collection week.
Starting
Monday, August 9, the City's residential trash
collection day and recycling collection week will
change for some customers to increase efficiency
and balance service routes. Residents can view
their collection day online. In
addition to trash collection day and recycling
week changes taking place August 9, the schedule
for bulk collection (items too large to fit in a
trash container) will change from weekly pickups
to every other week pickups for all residents.
Bulk items will be picked up the same weeks that
recycling items are collected. Yard
waste and appliance collection services will not
change. This means that yard waste will be
collected on your regular service day─ no
appointment is needed─ and appliances are
collected by appointments by calling 373-CITY
