Greensboro Shines Bright in City's Website Photo Contest

The new City of Greensboro website is now online and thanks to a photo contest, the star of the new site will be the city itself. Winning photos depicting images from around Greensboro, along with the photographer's name, will be the first visuals to greet visitors when they log on to the site's home page.

The winning photos, found online in the banner at the top of the City's website, were selected from nearly 600 entries representing six different categories. Winners of the contest are J. Stephen Catlett for landmark, Patrick Eilers for both recreation and beauty, Don Heermans for downtown, Doug Purnell for history, and Doug Swanson for skyline. The winners were recognized during the August 1 City Council meeting.

A city's website is often its most important communications tool. Effective sites provide information on how government works, what services and programs it provides, and how residents can best be serviced by its various departments.

To better communicate all that to Greensboro residents, the City has redesigned and updated its website to be more informative, user-friendly, attractive and intuitive. The new site is now online. Navigate through the site to learn more about what the City has to offer. Residents with questions or seeking information not found on the site are encouraged to call 373-CITY (2489).
