The City of Greensboro and community partners celebrate Bike Month with group rides, special events, clinics, and advocacy opportunities. Events are free unless otherwise stated. Let us know if you have an event to add to the list!
ONGOING RIDES
Easy Riders
Tuesdays, 6 pm, Cycles de ORO
701 Hill St.
It is relatively slow, conversational pace with frequent stops for educational info and regroupings. No one will be left behind. This is not a training ride. Helmet required.
Major Taylor Trek Ride
Tuesdays, 6-7:30 pm, Trek Bicycle Greensboro
3721 Battleground Ave.
Must bring helmet and front/rear bicycle lights. The ride will always be inclusive and all skill levels are encouraged to join.
Cycle Club with Lawn Service
Thursdays, 6-8:30 pm, LeBaur Park
208 Davie St.
Meet in Market Square. A four-mile, no drop route.
TRAINING
Greensboro Mountain Bike Experience
Tuesday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 21, 5:45-7:30 pm
Lake Higgins Marina/Bald Eagle Trail
Learn how to mountain bike! A bike is provided for you. Ages 9 through adult. Register at the Parks and Recreation website.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Pedaling for Mental Health
Saturday, May 4, 7 am
Mayhem Cycling, CyclePaths of Greensboro, and the RJ Strong Foundation present this fundraising ride. Registration required. Cost: $45-$50.
Spring into Summer Safety
Saturday, May 11, 10 am to 2 pm
Moses Cone Hospital, Tankersley Dr.
Safe Guilford – Safe Kids hosts this safety event. There will be games, giveaways, fire trucks, and food trucks, plus a bike rodeo! Topics include car seat safety, sleep safety, bike safety, fire safety, and more.

Ride of Silence
Wednesday, May 15, 6:30 pm
The Greensboro Ride of Silence is part of a world-wide event uniting bicyclists globally in honoring those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. Max speed is 12 miles per hour. Registration required.
Wheels on the Greenway - NEW DATE!
Saturday, May 18 from 9 am to 12 noon
Woven Works Park, located at the corner of Murrow Boulevard and Lindsay Street
This growing Greensboro tradition is a free community event that celebrates wheels of all kinds (bikes, trikes, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, strollers, wagons) and encourages people of all ages to get out on the Downtown Greenway for a morning of fun!
Family Day at the Bike Shop
Sunday, May 26, 1-6 pm, Community Bike Shop at Barber Park
Come grab a bike from the free bike library and meet the volunteers of the Community Bike Shop.
Tune In & Tune Up
Wednesday, May 29 from 6-8 pm
LoFi Park, 5oo N. Eugene St.
We’ll have a DJ spinning tunes while volunteer bike mechanics provide simple bicycle tune-ups. Learn about the “ABC Quick Check” and some basic bike maintenance, while enjoying the company of other folks who like to ride.
International Women’s Mountain Biking Celebration
Saturday, June 1, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, BurMill Park Shelter 7, 5834 Bur-Mill Club Rd.
Presented by the Piedmont Fat Tire Society and Piedmont Lady Shredders, this is a day dedicated to women enjoying mountain biking with each other and encouraging fellow women to join them. This event is free, but you must register by May 30.
